When we first connected with part-time van traveler Maggie Lam, it was about a post she had written and we reshared on social media. And it was about small gestures Maggie has experienced during her travels, why they you might not know that they are in fact microaggressions, and why representation of people of color within the road travel community matters. So we wanted to have a conversation with her about those small gestures, which you’ll hear in this episode. Through it all, you’ll also get to hear about the small gestures that truly make a positive impact-- like listening to and amplifying underrepresented voices-- and how you can use your privilege for good, both on the road and when you’re stationary.

If you’re looking to learn about how to be a better ally and accomplice for people of color on the road, or if you’re simply looking to hear a perspective you might not have before from a female road traveler, this episode is an especially great listen!
