On April 28, nation-wide protests broke out across Colombia in opposition to austerity-type tax reforms that would attack Colombia’s middle and working class. The protests have been met with violent military repression that has left at least 30 dead.

We will be discussing the situation on the ground with Emilia Márquez Pizano, a sex and gender director with the Colombian nonprofit Temblores, which collects data on police and state violence across the country. Also joining the show will be Cathy Rojas, an organizer with the Party for Socialism and Liberation who is based in New York City.
