JOEY OLIVEIRAJoey Oliveira used his love of horror comics and created his own comic book publisher. Established in 2017 and based in Liverpool, Afterlight Comics is an independent publisher of horror comics. Oliveira serves as a writer, editor, letterer and colorist.
Despite having no publishing experience prior to starting Afterlight, Oliveira used the writing, editing, storytelling skills he developed over his life and work in film to improve his line of comics.
Oliveira and host Shah talk about getting into comics, how Oliveira brought Afterlight to life, connecting with creators to make books, going to cons, getting indie books into comic shops/shipping globally, improving Afterlight with his experience and more.
