Tom Scioli, the cartoonist who lives and bleeds creativity, returns to Wits’ End to talk all things comics with Shah. Tom hasn’t had a break in two+ years. During that time, he’s been conjuring passionate project after project. Some of his recent projects include: Transformers vs. GI Joe, Go-Bots, Fantastic Four: Grand Design and his upcoming Jack Kirby: The Epic Life of the King of Comics.

The chat starts off as Shah and Tom re-evaluate Frank Miller’s controversial Dark Knight Strikes Again (the sequel to the highly respected The Dark Knight Returns). DKSA does have merits, despite its controversy. It’s Frank Miller embracing the Silver Age in his Dark Knight universe! In a nonsensical time, a nonsensical politically charged comic like DKSA puts a lot in perspective.

Tom is arguably the biggest Kirby fan on the planet and there’s no one better suited to tell The King’s story than him. Shah and Tom talk about the Kirby book, Kirby’s Captain Victory, Kirby inkers and how Kirby’s story has a major influence on comics.

Anyway! Shah and Tom talk Frank Miller comics, DC in the Silver Age, Jack Kirby inker’s (especially Vince Colletta), Tom’s Kirby book and other projects, Jack Kirby in movies, SUPERPOWERS, the fate of comic shops and a lot more.
