Coach and event rider Ashley Johnson joins Chris to discuss how and why some coaches are inclined to dominate their riders in a way that inhibits them becoming independent and able to make their own decisions, either in training or competition. It can be argued that some coaches want to be indispensable for their own job security, and riders come to rely on someone telling them what to do because it's less effort for them and enables them to avoid responsibility.
