So when the Republican representative from San Antonio was walking along the National Mall a few months ago, he became fascinated with a remote-controlled flying car operated by 10 year-old boy and his mom. “The advantage of this one is that it flies so slowly you can stay out of trouble,” Smith told the hearing room at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill, as he embraced his inner Oprah.
