Semifinalists have been named for the 2024 James Beard Foundation awards. 17 Chicago entries are on the list. Among the semifinalists is The Duck Inn in Bridgeport for Outstanding Restaurant, Lula Cafe in Logan Square for Outstanding Hospitality, and Atelier in Lincoln Square for Best New Restaurant. The James Beard Foundation awards are akin to the Academy Awards but for food. Nominees will be announced April 3 and winners will be named in June. The ceremony will be held at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
