David Joselit is a distinguished art historian and curator, and is currently the Chair of the Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies at Harvard University.  He is an editor at OCTOBER and has published widely on contemporary art, media and politics.  In 2021, his volume Heritage and Debt won the Robert Motherwell Award, one of the top prizes in modern art history.  In 2023, he published a follow up, Arts Properties, with Princeton University Press.  Arts Properties, the subject of this podcast, reconsiders how methodologies from "global" contemporary art can allow us to rethink the intra-European development of modernism.
