She was a pretty teenager in pigtails, working at the local Dairy Queen in Vancouver when a small-time street hustler first spotted her. He knew a good thing when he saw it and she was his ticket to fame and riches. Within a few months she was posing naked for Playboy Magazine, and he was buying a wedding ring. She was an instant star loved by many for her natural beauty and innocence, but he was a sleazy con no one wanted around.
Dorothy Stratten was a beautiful young woman on the verge of fame. She had just been named the Playboy Playmate of 1980 and her acting career was taking off. And more importantly she had finally found true love. But her ex-husband wasn’t prepared to let her go. As far as he was concerned, she was his possession and if he couldn’t have her, no one could.
