Frontiers Of Coordination #8 - Pioneers & Settlers; Going Fast & Far w/ Ven Gist

Ven is a designer and a general coordinator in several DAOs such as MetaCartel, DAOhaus and Raid Guild, among others. In this episode he shares his views and perspective on pioneering in DAOs and how to expand the frontiers of coordination.

“One thing the community have to do is sustain itself but the other thing is to explore the frontiers”, he shares. “currently there are DAOs that are very tight circles and when people want to pioneer, they have to go outside the circle to do it, which is necessary but also creates difficulty in coordinating”. For him, instead of DAOs being a rigid structure, there need to be protocols and mechanisms within the communities for pioneers to be empowered.

He believes that the future is oriented towards cross-DAO collaboration; however they need to figure out how to coordinate better before they can start coordinating across them.

“We need to be able to go fast and go far together and if DAOs can do that, we can actually start doing really effective governance”.
