Episode 377: New Coke: Catch the Pepsi
This week Host Dave Bledsoe gets very, very angry about this new orange flavored Jameson and angrily demands the bar toss it out immediately, only to be the one who gets tossed out. (Again) On the show this week we tell you what REALLY happened when Coca Cola changed its formula back in the 80’s (Spoiler Alert: It didn’t go well)
Along the way we learn why Dave drank Diet Coke as a teen (He was a wee fat baby!) Then we dive right into the history of Coca Cola from its beginnings as a booze and cocaine fueled “cure” for morphine addiction up through it being placed on the American flag. (Trust us, they wanted to do it!) Then we discover why Coke changed (people liked Pepsi) and that most people LIKED the new formula. Sadly, SOME people didn’t and they were very LOUD about it. (You know the kind of people we are talking about!)
