In the 2nd part of our witch trial miniseries, Journey takes us on a captivating journey back in time to a little-known but fascinating chapter of history – the Torsåker Witch Trials. As we navigate through the trials, we introduce you to the key figures that shaped this dark chapter of Swedish history, from the accused witches themselves to the fervent inquisitors seeking to root out evil in their community. We unravel the complex web of accusations and interrogations, revealing the bizarre methods used to determine guilt or innocence. As the episode progresses, we take you on a virtual tour of Torsåker, exploring the remnants of this eerie history that still linger in the landscape. Through our discussions, we ask the questions that have haunted historians for centuries: Were the accused truly witches, or were they victims of a paranoid society? How did these events shape the region, and what can we learn from the Torsåker Witch Trials to prevent history from repeating itself? This was the largest number of women to be sentenced and executed for witchcraft in ONE DAY in Sweden and it still resulted in traditions that are being practiced today.
