What’s Grillin’

Keep it simple on big holidays like the 4th of July. That way you can enjoy the holiday.

Tips for 4th of July cooking:

1. Fuel. Gas or Charcoal for the grill and beer for your belly. Stock up on it all.

2. Reduce clutter. Easy clean up make for more family/friend time.

- Utilize skewers, planks, and melons when serving your food.

- Make finger foods: burgers, tacos, brats, pizza, chicken legs/wings.

3. Do your burgers and brats in batches which helps avoid grease fires. Keep ‘em safe, warm in a crock pot.

4. Keep brats and sausages warm in a beer bath with onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. #BratTub

5. Take your time. Don’t rush it. You will be rewarded. Don’t forget it’s a holiday.

6. Big cuts, whole muscles, and large pan dishes. Rock a brisket all day or the day before. This lets you relax but keeps the grilling fun as you tend to your fire. It also creates a long lasting aroma that’s sure to make memories long lasting. Big pans of vegetable gratin, spinach artichoke dip, or the “big ole mess” are also great for pleasing crowds.

7. Take your time. Don’t be in too much of a rush. Smell the brisket!

8. Cocktails. No we don’t mean rum and coke. Don’t forget, cocktails are also part of your culinary experience. A memorable cocktail can go a long way!
