On this episode of the podcast I want to introduce you to walking, living, talking history of a New York City Fireman. His name, Mr. Jerry Sanford. With over 50+ years in the fire service, you can bet Jerry has a story or two to share. Him and I talk about his childhood, growing up, and how he found himself working the best job in the world, in one of the largest cities in the world. Jerry also shares with us his battle with addiction, and how it affected himself, and the job.
Jerry is also the co-author of a book, "It Started With A Helmet" a story of how a displaced NYFD Helmet was returned to its home the day before the 9/11 attacks.
