Benjamin Cheung is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, teaching courses primarily on research methodology, social psychology, and cultural psychology. He came as a settler on unceded Musqueam territory from the former British colony of Hong Kong, and has been interested in acculturation and bicultural identity ever since. As an undergraduate student at UBC, he majored in Psychology (with an emphasis on cultural psychology), and Asian Language and Culture (with a specialization in Korean). He obtained his MA and Ph.D. at UBC, working on projects related to cultural adaptation. Understanding the intersection of cultural environment, cultural identity, and cultural experience has always been an interest of his.

We are in for a treat today! We got Benjamin Cheung, super smart Ph.D on the podcast to talk about acculturation, bicultural identity, diaspora identity, and everything about being Asian in the West! He got a wealth of knowledge that will open your eyes on being diaspora or seeing things from the POV of a diaspora if you aren't diaspora. Super cool stuff! Check it out and you can follow him on twitter for more of his super smart takes on everything!
