Aretha Brown is an incredible young artist, screenwriter, activist and the former Prime Minister of the National Indigenous Youth Parliament. On this week’s pod Aretha joins us for a chat on the importance of her new role as a University lecturer, the idea behind relinquishing your power as an ally, how she’s managed to complete 65 public murals by the age of 23, what it’s like being the daughter of punk rock frontman of the Painters and Dockers, what makes a song sound “Melbourne”, and we get the lowdown on her screenwriting and love for comedy.

Be sure to check out her website where you can pre-order her Decolonise Your Self cards (we'll definitely be buying some) along with some other sick merch! We've linked to it below, along with the playlist Aretha made of Aboriginal artists on Spotify and to the incredible singer, Emma Donovan!
