It's the story of the aftermath of a plane crash in Alaska in 1943. There were 5 aviators on board. 4 were killed. 1 of them, Leon Crane, a Philadelphia native with no wilderness experience, somehow managed to survive 81 days in the harshest conditions imaginable.
