There's confidence one of Wellington's most famous buildings will sell.


The St Gerard's Church and Monastery has gone on the market today. 


The site requires significant earthquake strengthening to get it up to building standards.


Tommy's Real Estate Agent James Copeland, who tasked with selling it says there will be buyers out there.


He says it will be on the market for three weeks, which will attract interest both in New Zealand and internationally.
