Join Jessie & Rachel on Well Well Well today as they chat to lung cancer expert, Professor Matthew Peters. Lung cancer has become the biggest killer of women in Australia, surpassing breast cancer. Jessie and Rachel talk to Professor Peters about lung cancer risks, treatments and the potential to screen for lung cancer in the near future. They also speak with the author of the SWASH studies (Australia’s biggest study of lesbian, bisexual and queer women’s health, Dr Julie Mooney-Somers. One of the biggest (but not only risks) for lung cancer is smoking. They speak with Dr Mooney-Somers about smoking rates among LGBTIQ people, why they are higher and what we can do about it.
