Can you handle the truth?

Whether your approach has been to hide the truth to protect those you love or been to be brutally honest in life... God has a word to say about sharing Truth and Grace. Did you ever watch the movie, "A Few Good Men"? Jack Nicholson's character is on the witness stand explaining why he lied and he stated "You can't handle the truth"! He lied because was trying to protect the soldiers under him.  So let me ask you, do you prefer people to NOT tell you the full truth or would you rather they brutally honest?  What is the best approach?
