In this episode, we are discussing the 1969 album Philosophy of the World by the Shaggs. The Shaggs are a group of sisters and the band was formed by their father who had been told by a fortune teller (his mother) that he would have daughters who would go on to be in a famous music group. He instructed them to write songs because they were going to be a hit band. The girls created the songs for this album with next-to-no musical training, and it has been regarded as artistically significant in many ways by the outsider music community.
