Posting this, I realize that Weird Medicine may be at the end of its shelf-life. I always said I'd keep doing it until it wasn't fun any more and there's really nothing fun in this episode.
Last week, one of our friends told the story how he got a vaccine card without actually taking the vaccine. Yes, the vaccine isn't FDA approved and yes, I understand why there is hesitancy out there, especially in someone who has already had the virus and has natural immunity. I also understand that there are barriers being erected to normal functioning if one doesn't have the "vaccine passport," at least in some parts of our society. So the pressure to do things that one wouldn't normally do is there and I get that. Putting a medical professional in a situation, though, where they have to compromise their integrity...oh I don't even want to talk about it, anymore, we discussed it enough on this episode.
I was tempted to just delete this one; I don't want to make enemies and I don't want to lose a friend either. You can disagree with someone's actions and still be friends with them, right? Right? On the other hand, Stacy's a big boy and can handle it, and plans to be here next show and that will be the last time this is ever discussed. I'll have to decide after next week's show whether this is still "fun."
Oh, and Fezzie died today, and I'm bummed about that too, probably more so; we all knew it would happen eventually, but he just kept on being Fez, despite retreating into Todd-dom and it still took me by surprise. He was a delight, just a lovely person and Tacie and I will miss him forever.
So overall just a crap week; it's ok if you skip this one. And the next one. If we can get through it, we'll do dix and nutz questions and have fun again in a couple of weeks.
