Eto and DJ Muggs’s Hell’s Roof is a master class on composing an album. There’s a clear narrative, consistent production, and no reasons to hit the “Skip” button. Hell’s Roof is both an ode to the crack era and Eto’s hometown of Rochester, also called Hell’s Roof. Over ten songs complete with the Muggs’s signature sinister and dramatic production, Eto, one of the freshest voices out, continues what he’s been doing on his own, giving the listener a slice of his hometown, his perspective, and most importantly, himself. In this interview, we break down the album, working with Muggs, coming from Rochester, the grind, and much more.
