Today on the Regional Update, we mix it up a bit by focusing on a problematic weed in the Basalt to Bay region - gorse weed. The seed of this weed can last over 50 years and can cause havoc for farmers as it is difficult to get control of and also can acidify the soil it grows in. Basalt to Bay Landcare Project Manager, Lisette Mill runs a project to control this weed in the region. She talks about some handy resources at the end of the podcast too - you can find those here: http://www.basalttobay.org.au/Also, you can find more information from the Victorian Gorse Taskforce here: https://www.facebook.com/VictorianGorseTaskforce/
