The author’s goal for the books is to to help boys and young men making touch decisions, while not being overwhelmed by expectations, both of themselves and of others. These books also seek to deal with fears and remove fear of the unknown. Confronting fears is a lifelong skill acquired over many years. The author’s hope if that this trilogy will give you a head start.

NIPPER, Book 1. Summary: It is curious how experience molds our actions, reactions, and expectations of what is to come. This first volume in the trilogy gives an account of how George, the main character, grows up in the safety of a Spartan, but loving home and the freedoms afforded so easily to those who have so little. Part of that growing up is the introduction into the life equation of encounters with girls younger and older. This is the story of how one boy’s opinion was turned, obstacles overcome, and a young man’s expectations were both raised and confounded in equal measure.

MOOSE CONQUERING FEAR, Book 2. Summary: For George, confronting fears was a lifelong skill acquired over many years: taking the knocks, making ill-judged decisions, and not learning from past errors, all served to muddy the waters. Making the harder calls on personal and career transitions seemed to open up a chasm of doubt in his mind, but with the right support and a leap of faith in his own abilities, the challenges that lay ahead of him became as alluring as a late spring sunset after a rain-soaked day. Transitioning life stages is never easy. Fear of failure in your first job and/or first marriage lead to decisions for better or for worse. George took them all.

KNOW YOUR MIND, Book 3. Summary:The third and final part of the trilogy moves on from growing pains in teenage years and confronting fears to exploring the extraordinary relationship between the mind and the body which can help overcome those same pains and fears, culminating in a new philosophical perspective. There was no eureka moment, but a succession of scenarios experienced – some with direct physical impacts, others with more subtle and humorous implications for our mental capacity – that opened a door into another silent reality, where the five senses are muted to allow for a sixth to be awakened.

What began as a collection of thoughts amassed from strangely inexplicable recurrences, evolved through research into wider possibilities of the power of the mind and resulted in our protagonist, George, being astonished by the predictability he found and the calm that these experiences instilled in him.
