On this episode of Think Theory Radio we discuss the hyperreal way in which two conspiracy theories created actual outcomes in the physical world. First, the Nashville suicide bomber who presumably believed in a reptilian race ruling the world, and alien invasion of Earth, & 5G networks manipulating human DNA. Second, Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn what they perceive to be a stolen election, many of whom are largely influenced by Qanon conspiracies of a dark cabal covertly operating in the shadows. Both of these are examples of the action of "hyperreality." To desire a specific reality and in the attempt to achieve that desire, fabricate a false reality that is to be consumed as real.
