Trump appealed Chutkan's gag order to the full D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, arguing the initial panel was mistaken in their ruling upholding portions of the gag. Citing free speech, the First Amendment and an ongoing political campaign, Trump's defense asks the court to stay Chutkan's original order.

CNN confirms Jack Smith wants Trump convicted before the 2024 election, as we've long known.
