St. Michaels is an interesting mix between tourist/second home location given its access to the Chesapeake Bay and proximity to Baltimore and D.C. It is a close-knit community with just over 1,000 year round residents and with a rich history. The town survived the War of 1812 and became known as "The Town That Fooled the British" by avoiding destruction via cannon through proactive measures.
