The Crummies are a cartoon band project started by Jody Hill in 1995 in Memphis Tn. After years of playing in metal, punk rock and classic rock cover bands Jody decided he’d like to start writing his own material but couldn’t decide on a style/genre to write in having been influenced by so many different styles of rock/pop music. After attending an Infinity Record Convention he rediscovered his love for The Archies and all things Bubblegum. So, after buying a Fostex DMT8, one of the first stand alone hard disk recorders, he decided to start writing and recording his own material using as many different influences and different musicians as possible to begin learning the craft of songwriting and recording.

The Crummies project gave him complete freedom to try anything in order to learn these skills. The Crummies recorded 4 cd’s worth of music , 1 Everything’s Crummy, 2 Mingle Mangle 3 Guitar Face, and 4 Hits, Smashes and Blockbusters. After the 4th cd Jody moved to NYC and continued collaborating with other musicians, writing songs and performing with his new project 76 and a Cramps tribute band called Flamejob. Jody moved to LA in 2016 and is guitar teching at McCabe’s Guitar Shop and still writing/recording new music.
