Myanmar is defending itself against accusations of genocide against Rohingya Muslims at the United Nation’s highest court this week.

Aung San Suu Kyi, the once revered defender of human rights and democracy in Myanmar, is answering for the actions of Myanmar’s military against the Rohingya. This is a case that was brought to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) by the Gambia, and Aung San Suu Kyi’s presence at the court has brought the plight of the Rohingya back into the international spotlight.
