In many parts of the world, insects are a regular part of people’s diets. That’s not the case in the United States, but perhaps it should be. Vox senior correspondent Dylan Matthews explains why eating bugs may be a more environmentally friendly alternative to eating meat, as well as what insect farming might look like. He also lays out why some people still have reservations about insect diets (beyond the ick factor), since we don’t know whether insects feel significant pain.
