Celebrity Stylist Monae Everett on The Difference Between Being A Professional Hairstylist and A Hair Enthusiast

Monaé launched "The Monae Life Academy" online academy specifically for hairstylists, teaching how to style for editorials, celebrities, and styling for all hair texture and  released "Get Out Of Your Own Way!" to help artists who want to follow their dreams of working with celebs and other high end clientele.

Monae's philosophy goes back to being a hairstylist, not a hair enthusiast and being able to make any client look and feel better when they leave your chair, regardless of hair type or texture.

She also has a passion for representation in front of the camera, behind the camera and behind the chair. Learn more about how the system needs stylists who can support models and actresses of all hair types

Finally - how do you get to where she is? "There are so many things to 'unlearn.' Times where you think you know what you're doing but then you're going all the way left and you've gotta cut all the way back."
