🏐 Andrea Gardini is one of the biggest names in Italian volleyball. He won seven times the Italian League, four times the Champions League, he was three times a World Champion with the national team. After starting his coaching career he was an assistant coach of the Polish national team and later won the Polish League with ZAKSA. In the podcast we discussed the following topics:

Andrea Gardini (born 1 October 1965) is a former Italian volleyball player, medalist of the Olympic Games, three-time World Champion (1990, 1994, 1998), four–time European Champion (1989, 1993, 1995, 1999). n 2011 he was a coach assistant of Poland men's national volleyball team, when a head coach was Andrea Anastasi. In 2011 he won with this national team three medals. On July 10, 2011 achieved bronze of World League 2011. On September 18, 2011 Poland led by Anastasi and Gardini won bronze of European Championship 2011. In the same year, in December his team achieved silver at World Cup 2011 and was qualified for the Olympic Games 2012. For the first time in the history Polish national team won three medals in one year. On July 8, 2012 his team won the final match of World League 2012 against United States (3-0). In 2012 Polish team led by them took the 5th place at the Olympic Games London 2012. In October 2013 Anastasi and Gardini were dismissed as coaches of the Polish national team. In 2019 he won the Polish title with ZAKSA. 


Andrea Gardini è un allenatore di pallavolo ed ex pallavolista italiano, di ruolo centrale. Considerato uno dei migliori giocatori di sempre nel suo ruolo, soprattutto nel fondamentale di attacco, è stato uno dei punti di forza della nazionale italiana di pallavolo durante la fase d'oro degli anni 1990 nonché un simbolo in Italia della cosiddetta generazione di fenomeni. Nel 2007 è stato il primo italiano a essere accolto nella Volleyball Hall of Fame di Holyoke.
