California Attorney General Xavier Becerra will almost certainly be the next head of the US Department of Health and Human Services. That leaves the state's top cop position open, with rumors circulating that Sacramento's Mayor Darrell Steinberg is on a very short list of nominees (read :2) being considered by Governor Gavin Newsom.
