Jacobus Hendrikus Speenhoff (1869 - 1945 ) was a Dutch song witer and graphic artist, who became best known as a cabaret performer. His mini drama, Louise, explores the predicament of a young woman who has to decide between opposing lifestyles: middle class domesticity or Bohemian extravagance.
