Synopsis: We have seen in the news the increasing number of refugees, with particular focus on the perilous journeys undertaken. The crisis in Syria and now Afghanistan has renewed the focus of refugees travelling across the Channel to seek refuge in the UK. This has led to a politically charged issue within UK politics, with lines being drawn and stances being taken by various parties. That's why in this episode of Pathway to Peace, the Presenters will be examining the issue of seeking refuge in the UK - Is there a limit to the numbers that can be admitted? Does everyone have right to claim asylum? Who’s responsibility is it to care for those seeking shelter on UK shores - are just some of the questions the panel will be examining, in what is proving to be a very complex problem for society to resolve.
