June 23rd has been designated as Public Service Day by the United Nations General Assembly. This was brought into effect back in 2003, to celebrate the value and virtue of public service to the community. This day recognizes the work of public servants and encourages young people to pursue careers in the public sector. It highlights the critical role that public administration plays in implementing government.

The celebration aims to promote the contributions of public service in enhancing the quality of life for all citizens, fostering transparency, accountability, and responsiveness within public institutions. It also serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the challenges faced by public servants and to showcase innovative practices and achievements in public administration from around the globe.
By highlighting the importance of public service, in this episode of Pathway to Peace we explore the importance that Islam lays on fulfilling the rights that are due to mankind; and the importance of justice and equity in everything that we do.
