Title: 75yrs on from Hiroshima; have we learnt any lessons?
Synopsis: This August marks the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States at the end of World War Two. The bombings had terrible effects on the populations of these cities and reshaped the nature of international politics for many decades later. In this episode, the Pathway to Peace team examine the build up to this devastating event and its horrendous aftermath; look to see if society has learnt anything from this tragic moment of history and what guidance can we find from Islamic sources regarding war and peace.
