Detailed Synopsis:
The Theme for this show is ‘Persecution’. And in the next half an hour you will get to hear a five poem of different styles of poetry from people on this theme.
There are some people, tribes, communities, all around the world which are being persecuted for different reasons, quite often because they are seen as weaker or a threat of some kind, whether the threat is religion, caste, ethnicity, their social status or the colour of their skin. And we witness this being continually repeated throughout history by people, groups, countries and nations in some way or form.
Strangely enough, all of the poems I received on this theme focused on the persecution on Muslims, however I hope this show will give you a small example of the pain felt by some of those being persecuted, and perhaps even move you, or allow you to see the whole of mankind with a more compassionate heart, regardless of who they are.

The first poem is from the very talented poet Sister Faiza Kiran, a truly poetical jewel with her inspiring poem from Hartlepool, titled Paradise Lost.
The next poem is quite specifically about the persecution of Ahmadi Muslims, from a wonderful poetical star the acclaimed poet Zafar Bhatti from the midlands in Leamington Spa with his poem titled ‘The Silent Voice’.
This is then followed by another poet also from the Midlands, from the aspiring young Sabahat Ahmad, full of talent who reads his wonderful poem titled Sunset with such admirable gallant and paints the grim reality of those being persecuted.
A wonderful poem is next, about the treatment of Muslims in Palestine, a story of the bondage of its subjects by those bringing closer its frontline, from an Imam, Mansoor Clarke who is a Missionary of Islam, with his very moving poem that which would make any human very emotional.
The final poem is from the acclaimed poet Muddabir Khalid who brings an inspiring style on the dire persecution of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who are being forced to live in a state of exile, being put to trial, without release, living a life in exile for their beliefs.
