Arms' Trade
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the total global military expenditure reached $2443 billion in 2023, an increase of 6.8 per cent in real terms from 2022. This was the steepest year-on-year increase since 2009. These figures underscore the scale and impact of the arms trade on global peace, security, and development. There's a significant concern that weaponry manufactured in Britain is being utilized in Gaza in manners that breach international humanitarian law. The government must uphold its own regulations and halt the export of arms to Israel.
