Drop off Flesh, Pick up Fruit of the Spirit.
Every time we drop off or let go of evil and take on or pick up good, we please God. On the contrary when we drop off good and pick up evil, we please the devil, and we can shout out loudly “God forbid”. However, consciously or unconsciously we choose either to please God or the devil by our actions and reactions. You must be intentional about choosing to please God.
It is now clear why God’s Word clearly admonishes us in the “Beatitudes” to show mercy to others, so that we can likewise obtain God’s mercy. Matthew 5:7.
As you yield yourself to Jesus Christ, through the help of the Holy Spirit, you can purposefully drop off fleshly lusts and pick up the good fruit of the Spirit
“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
Drop of the mess of sin and pick up the mercy of Salvation in Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
