This week, VISION ON SOUND is drawn towards 1980s regional dramas the titles of which start with the letter B, as our Canadian Correspondent RICK LAWLOR returns to talk about a British show that he's currently enjoying rewatching, BOON.

BOON was a highly successful CENTRAL TELEVISION adventure series made for the ITV Network which ran for seven series and which featured the misadventures of the motorcycle-loving former fireman Ken Boon, as played by MICHAEL ELPHICK, alongside DAVID DAKER as Harry, and, from series two, NEIL MORRISSEY as Rocky.

We then move on to have a brief chat about another of his favourites, Alan Plater's sublime 1980s BEIDERBECKE TRILOGY (AFFAIR, TAPES, and CONNECTION) which was made by YORKSHIRE TELEVISION and starred JAMES BOLAM and BARBARA FLYNN as schoolteachers Trevor Chaplin and Jill Swinburne, and which we're almost certain to return to another time.

PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.
