First broadcast on FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL at 19:00 on September 11th 2022

Two former guests on VISION ON SOUND happen to be the chief movers and shakers behind WHOOVERVILLE, an annual DOCTOR WHO convention held in DERBY in September, and this year they were kind and supportive enough to ask VISION ON SOUND to join them and take part.

So, we packed up our trusty FAB GEAR and took VISION ON SOUND on the road for the very first time to do a couple of interviews in front of a live audience in the cinema at DERBY QUAD where at very short notice for them, I was kindly allowed to interview the well-known television actor FRAZER HINES (who you’ll be familiar with from a whole host of shows including EMMERDALE and DOCTOR WHO) and the television writers ANDREW SMITH and STEPHEN WYATT who between them, amongst many other writing credits, wrote several scripts for DOCTOR WHO in its classic era.

Any technical shortcomings in the recordings are entirely my own doing, but I hope you’ll still be able to enjoy what they all had to say.

With grateful thanks to FRAZER HINES, ANDREW SMITH and STEPHEN WYATT for their fascinating and entertaining insights, and STEVE HATCHER for dropping by. I’ve a long list of other people to thank for contributing to this week’s show, including STEVE HATCHER and ANDREW MARK-THOMPSON for the invitation, kindness, and support, DERBY QUAD for all their help on the day, PAUL RIPLEY for lending us the FAB GEAR, PHILIPPA for acting as my assistant (and carer) on the day, SANDY McGREGOR for acting as my MINDER when asked, as well as all of those kind and wonderful people attending WHOOVERVILLE for just being fabulous and very supportive company, as well as FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL for all that they do, including supplying STEVE SOUTHERN’s music.

PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.
