Joycon Drift Issues Hit The Switch Lite? Not Time To Panic (Yet) (VL105)

When Nintendo was sued earlier this year due to "drifting" of their Joy-Con Switch controllers (movements being registered despite the applicable joystick being maintained in a neutral position), the company quickly took swift (though mostly silent) action to permit its customers to have the hardware replaced at no additional cost.

Why was such a step necessary? Because the company was set to launch its next line of hardware this fall, only this time with the Joy-Con technology embedded directly in the unit: the Switch Lite.

But now that the system has launched, what are we to make of early reports that the Switch Lite experiences the same drift that got Nintendo involved in a class action lawsuit in the first place?

And why is it not time to panic quite yet, either for game players, or for Nintendo itself.

Expect Lite Sales with a chance of Drift in...Virtual Legality.
