Cyber Crunch 2077? Workplace Culture, CDPR, and Cyberpunk 2077 (VL327)

With Cyberpunk 2077 nearing completion, its developer CD Projekt Red has announced that it will require employees to work 6 days a week during game's final six weeks before launch. While such "crunch" is not all that unusual for major AAA projects, as Bloomberg's Jason Schreier points out, such a stance reneges on promises made by the company last year.

Of course, a lot has gone on since those statement were made (thanks 2020!), and a lot of folks are making a lot of assumptions about this project and CDPR itself. So let's talk about it.
