Things are evolving again. We're not completely changing format, but for the right guest and/or circumstance, I'll gladly bend the rules. Today's episode features my talk with Daryl Black Eagle Jamieson. Leader of the Eastern Medicine Singers which makes up more than half of the Joyful Noise/Stone Tapes recording artists, Medicine Singers. After I caught them, completely by accident, I was compelled to try to reach out and get them for the show. So, here we are. I'll admit, I was a little nervous about this talk because I wanted to try to touch on some of the ideas expressed on the Rumble documentary without having that same conversation. Only because their is a strong connection to that content and my genuine interest in some native folkloric music and the realms of that genre in modern day applications. This is beautifully avant garde, profoundly impactful, sacred music which should be heard by everyone. Please follow these links to hear it, and if you agree with me, purchase a copy too. In whichever format you like:
