In Acts chapter four we see where a man named Barnabas gives an incredibly generous gift to the church. In fact, Barnabas was known for his generosity, his encouragement, his kindness. Shortly after in Acts chapter five we see the infamous story of Ananias and Sapphira, who gave the appearance of generosity but in their deception, they paid a high price. This serves as a powerful lesson to the church to not "play church" for the accolades or acceptance - but to be authentic in every way possible.
