"A dingo's got my baby"

In 1982, Lindy Chamberlain was falsely convicted for the murder of her infant daughter who was taken by a dingo while the family was on a camping trip. Her cry for help, "a dingo's got my baby", turned into a global punchline. In 1992, the Australian government paid Chamberlain $1.3 million in compensation.
