In this podcast, I wanted to speak on the phenomenon of "saving people." In my life, I've experienced this in 2 main forms- 1. where someone WANTS to be "saved" and is encouraging you to act in a codependent manner, and 2. where someone doesn't want to be "saved" and you are projecting and interjecting into their life. Either way, these ways of acting are not authentic. When my father went to prison last year, I hit rock bottom with this "savior" dynamic. I was miserable, coming from a complete place of illusion, and wasn't able to clearly validate his situation as it was, because I believed I needed to save him from it. Through hitting rock bottom, I was able to liberate myself from all the ways I had been engaging in this "saving" dynamic- with family, friends, and romantic relationships. This is my experience and my insight into "saving." Hope you enjoy, and if you do, leave me a review :)
