A New Brunswicker of Acadian extract, Marcel St. Pierre is now a Toronto-based actor, improvisor, comedian, author, writer and producer. Both of his books of short humorous fiction, cliché and wind go hitchiking and Vengeful Hank & Other Shortweird Stories were number one best-sellers on Amazon in their category.
A sometimes familiar face on commercials and television, Marcel has also performed with sketch and improv groups like The Second City National Touring Company (Toronto), Canadian Comedy-Award winning Monkey Toast, and The Stand-Ins. He’s a multiple BDA/Promax advertising award-winner for his work as an on-air promo writer and producer. He and his work have appeared on The Comedy Network, Food Network, HGTV, History Channel, Teletoon, Treehouse TV, YTV and more. He was also part of the Canadian Screen Award (Gemini) winning team that produced CBC Television‘s The Morgan Waters Show. (Best Youth Program, 2007).
He is the creator, producer, director and appears on two sketch comedy albums with Shortweird Radio and is a founding member and former Artistic Director of The Bad Dog Theatre Company. Producer of live comedy shows in Toronto, you can also catch him performing improv and stand-up at places like The Bad Dog Comedy Theatre, The Social Capital, Comedy Bar and points in between, solo or with with his improv supergroup The Coincidence Men.
